CAM2 motor oil was first introduced in 1975, by the Sun Refining and Marketing Company as a "do it yourself" motor oil. The program promoted CAM2 Motor Oil to mass retailers such as Kmart, Sears and other large warehouse distributors, and to jobbers and motor oil distributors. Between 1975 and 1983, Sun Marketing spent nearly $20M on advertising, promoting and establishing CAM2 as a superb, national brand motor oil. And superb it is! 

In 1981, Sun Oil decided to concentrate its efforts solely on production and put CAM2 marketing activities up for sale. Of course, there were many suitors - but the CAM2 brand was eventually purchased by our group of uniquely qualified and experienced motor oil distributors.

 We became the CAM2 Oil products Company, and established our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, USA with marketing offices in Chicago, Illinois, USA and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

The original idea was to have a nationally recognized brand of motor oil that we could control. In this way, our group's distributors could protect themselves from the predatory practice of huge oil companies, who sell directly to a distributor's customers, after the distributor has developed the business. Certainly a bad situation! Our goal was to make certain that CAM2's Distributors were protected.

CAM2 Oil Products Company began quite humbly. Our total product line consisted of eight motor oils. But that simple beginning soon expanded to hundreds of CAM2 Quality Products from more than 30 suppliers.

For Decades CAM2 has shown a tradition of leadership in automotive lubricants. CAM2 was the first multi-viscosity motor oil to be sanctioned by the USAC for championship racing. Our bulk program is quite extensive. We offer lubricants in quarts, gallons, pails, kegs, drums, and bulk lubricants in totes, tank trucks and rail cars.In addition to CAM2, we also offer products under the Magnum, Macmillan, and Roadmaster trademarks.
